Royal Australian "Special Air Services Regiment" Sergeant Sean Bannon.While the history of the Australian Special Forces can be traced as far back as the 1940's, it was not until July of 1957 that the Special Air Service was officially formed and then eventarlly became a full Regiment (SASR) in August of 1964. The Regiment adopted the "Winged dagger" emblem and the motto "Who Dares Wins".The SASR is an elite and highly capable Regiment of well trained and equipped professionals, which has served in numerous actions throughout the world, including Borneo, Cambodia, Somalia, Iraq and most recently in the Afghanistan action.
